This Navy Strength gin is suffused with naval traditions and history. Before chemistry was even founded as a pure science the necessity of having vitamin C on long ocean voyages was well established. More sailors have been struck down by the dread SCURVY than have been killed in open battle. Some even attribute the Royal Navy’s successes at sea to the men’s daily dose of lime juice. The S&O Manufactory Ltd has laced this gin with LIME PEEL in honour of this tradition as well as with leaves of CHINESE GREEN TEA. For some contend that the great glory days of the British Empire were founded on fortifying cups thereof and the globe-spanning trade dedicated to providing said same.
Lay these two botanicals over a base of Perfidious Albion’s preferred brace up at a thigh-slapping 57%abv and one has a fortifying beverage that can be used to prove one’s mettle as much as the quality of the ship’s gunpowder (mixing gunpowder and high-strength spirits was once the Navy’s way of testing the grade of the former). Serve neat over ice, with tonic water, or in a cocktail (Salty Dog, Army & Navy, Floating Power...) and gently hum Rule Britannia as the sun sets.. ----------Please drink responsibly (viz. not while waving a sword and/or pistols, in the presence of impressionable youth, while in command of Her Majesty’s fleet, if pregnant, or any combination thereof).
